Dayanand College, Hisar owes its existence to the dream, vision and missionary zeal of a selfless and distinguished educationist Late Lala Gian Chand Mahajan, later christened as Swami Munishwaranand. A teacher by profession, a social crusader by inclination and a saint by temperament, Lala Gian Chand Mahajan shaped the destiny of this institution for the first nine formative years as its Principal. Drawing upon his life-long experience as a teacher and later as a Principal of D.A.V.

D.A.V. College, Pundri was started in April 1969 under the banner of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. Pundri is an ancient town, older than Mahabharta and situated on Karnal-Kaithal road. Ch. Bansi Lal, the then Chief Minister, Haryana laid down the foundation stone of this college. Late Sh. B.R. Goyal, Ex-P.S. to State Health Minister, Govt. of India, New Delhi was the moving spirit behind the idea of its starting and growth. Late Ch. Ishwar Singh, Ex-Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Sh. L.P. Aggarwal, a national reputed eye surgeon and Late Sh.

D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, the biggest Private Educational Trust in the country, running more than 700 institutions in all, the college has more than 1300 students on its rolls today. Seeds of this blossoming and fruit bearing tree of today were shown in 1981 by a few noble enthusiasts with a view to liberate the energies of wisdom, devotion and skills latent in our boys and girls and to infuse them with vital ideals of humanity. Located on the bank of the holy river Saraswati, it is a multi-faculty co-education institution affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.

D.A.V. (P.G.) College, Karnal is known for excellent education in U.G. and P.G. classes. It was established in 1974. Primarily it was established to cater to the needs of underprivileged sections of society like rural, semi urban & urban areas.
