Jayaprakash, deputy general manager of Canara Bank (Hubli), has said nationalized banks and public sector banks have plans to create more opportunities for MBA graduates in top- and middle-level management.
He was speaking at a function organized by Vidyabharati Foundation's IBMR MBA College (Hubli) to welcome freshers here on Saturday. The DGM said within four years, over 40% of bank employees will be retiring. "Hence, most of the banks would be looking out for MBA graduates who have specialized in finance, banking, insurance and marketing," he added.
Jayaprakash said India has a lot of potential for small-, medium- and large-scale business so it would be better if MBA graduates aim at becoming entrepreneurs and not job-seekers.
Academic director Rajendra Malowade said a judicious blend of academics and practical experience would enhance the quality of human resource and add value to the B-school course.
MD of IBMR Group of Institutes, Vinayachnadra Mahendrakar, divisional manager of Canara Bank, D K Kulkarni, and others were present.
