Banaras Hindu University Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) – All India Competitive Written Test.

Course: MBBS (63 seats)

Exam: There are two stages of exam:

  1. PMT/PAT-Screening
  2. PMT- Main

The candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Course 2014 in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU must register themselves online in the prescribed application form available on the BHU website (wwwbhu.ac.in) alongwith the processing fee. However, the admission will be done on the basis of their merit in the AIPMT – 2014 examination. The fee for registration to UG Courses will be Rs.1000/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.600/- for PC,SC & ST candidates.

Tentative counselling for admission to UG Courses (MBBS/BDS) will be held on 4th July, 2014. Individual letters to the successful candidates based on their rank in the AIPMT 2014 will be sent by Registered post/Speed Post giving the exact date of counselling. The candidates are advised to check the BHU/IMS website from time to time for updates.

Those students who have not got registered with the Director, IMS,BHU will not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses 2014 through IMS, BHU Counselling. However, mere registration does not guarantee admission to MBBS/BDS courses 2014.

Eligibility:

Candidate should be passed intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks for general and 40% for SC and ST category.

Candidates appearing in qualifying examination may also apply.

Age Requirements:

Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.

How to apply?

  1. Through official website, candidate can fill the BHU PMT form. The same can be easily downloaded and filled offline.
  2. Fees or payment process can be monitored both offline and online.
  3. Candidates applying online can make payment through Debit or Credit card.
  4. Candidates who are applying offline can do payment by means of DD in favor of BHU.

(b) BY POST: From the Office of the Director (PMT-Cell), Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005 by sending a written request through Registered Post along with Crossed Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque (MICR only) of Rs. 1300/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 900 for SC/ST candidates of a Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of "The Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU" payable at Varanasi.

BHU PMT Exam Pattern:

  1. BHU PMT exam contain multiple choice questions.
  2. Exam is conducted in two sections.
  3. There are total 200 questions, 50 queries from each subject.

1st section syllabus:

  1. Includes questions from Biology (Botany and Zoology), Chemistry and Physics.

For every correct answer 2 marks can be gained and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted out of the total.

2nd section syllabus:

  1. This section includes total 200 multiple choice questions.
  2. There are total 100 questions, 25 questions from each subject.

For every correct answer 2 marks can be gained and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted out of the total.
