Library :.
This year the library has taken a giant leap forward in the area of Library automation. The DIPSAR library is now digital and has completed its Bar-coding Project The institution library (fully air-conditioned) is a knowledge centre which has rich resources of all the books. It has a carpet area of about…..square feet. It is the hub of all academic activities. All students, faculty members and employees of the institution are eligible for membership of the library. The registered members are issued borrower’s ticket corresponding to their entitlement. DIPSAR library issues bar-coded library identity cards for its members.

Services:-
New books Display: new books purchased by the library are displayed and kept for consultation at the circulation counter
CD-ROM: Access to CD-ROMs which comes alongwith books/journals is available.
Newspaper clippings: Newspaper clippings on various pharmacy profession, education and basic disciplines are also available.
Xerox facility is available for faculty and staff.
The new software not only allows search of the entire collection sitting in front of the computer but is able to tell the pin point location of books and journals. The library is also using the bar coding technology for issue and return of library books.
This year we have added 362 books amounting Rs4.75 lakhs to the Library and the Library collection is nearly 17,000 books.
The Library timings have been extended till 8 pm and the Library now opens every Saturday for the benefit of students and faculty.
Food Court :.
A Fully air conditioned food court is there Where faculty, staff and students get quality food & snacks.
Central Instrumentation Laboratory :.
The laboratory is equipped with world-class analytical instruments. Students can avail this facility round the clock, 365 days a year. The lab boasts of instruments like:
1. HPTLC (Camag)
2. Lyophillizerer
3. Semiautoanalyser
4. Millipore Filter
5. UV - Spectrophometer(Shimadzu)
6. Gas Chromatograph(Perkin Elmer)
7. Invert Microscope (Nikon)
8. Digital Plethysmometer
9. Ultrasound (Shimadzu)
10. HPLC (Waters)
11. Infrared Spectrometer (Hitachi)
Information Technology Centre :.
The institution has set up facilites for in-house use of computer, email and internet services for the students, staff and the faculty. This center provides a variety of services to the students in literature search, computation and graphics.
Networking the campus
Two Information technology centers at DIPSAR provides 24x7 access to the Information highway of internet using 2Mbps of internet bandwidth. The institute has fiber optic network and switch backbone connecting auditorium, MAPIC centre, Seminar Hall to the main building. The internet bandwidth of 128 Kbps has been upgraded to 2Mbps (1:3) initially and now to 2Mbps (1:1) recently from ISP-ERNET to allow all the users seamless access to the internet. This year network nodes were increased initially to 100 and now to 120 nodes recently covering all research laboratories by expanding the network through structured cabling in all the floors/ research labs of the institution building. Now institute has internet access 24x7 and all the systems are connected through web server facility.
Antivirus software (Symantec) is being used for installing through network on the individual PCs on the DIPSAR network. Statistical application software i.e. Sigmastat is also extensively used by research scholars for applying statistical tests on their observations. Troubleshooting support is also being provided in resolving network and hardware related problems, along with software support for beginners.
The DIPSAR website has also been improving over the years. The site is easy to navigate, with content features. The site is useful for getting admission related information, admission procedure, prospectus, etc and also particularly for downloading forms, guidelines during admissions and for downloading tenders documents, etc.
Animal House :.
Availability of laboratory animals is crucial for teaching and research in pharmaceutical sciences. A central animal house facility exists for breeding of common species of laboratory animals and for maintaining experimental animals used by the research students. At present, the animal house maintain about……. Mice,…..rats, several rabbits and…..
The Institute has a 1,000 sq.ft. animal housing facilities with air conditioned facility with a rabbit run made by using Canadian know how which is first of its kind in India. The animal house is the unique of it’s sort in Delhi meeting the requirement of all the research activities and CPCSEA protocol.
The Animal House at DIPSAR is an independent facility housed in a campus. It also has the service areas like records office, washing and autoclaving area, raw material room for animal feed, feed preparation room, a biochemistry laboratory for studying biochemical markers to check the purity of the animal strains, a routine microbiology laboratory, and a histology facility. The experimental modules have been placed at the proximal end of the animal area while the supply and breeding modules are placed at the far end. In order to facilitate unidirectional movement of clean and dirty material, the animal area comprises of a central clean corridor, with the dirty corridor located on either side of the rooms.
Biochemical and genetic parameters are measured at definite intervals to assess the authenticity of these animals. The experienced and helpful technical staff of the Animal House assist the research workers in their animal experiments, and are responsible for proper maintenance of this key facility of the Centre.
