Journey of Regional Centre Chandigarh began in December 2008 with its formal announcement and appointment of Dr. Asha Sharma as Regional Director with instructions to begin operation from premises of Regional Centre, Khanna.
However, in view of beginning of new financial year 2009-10 and need to start functioning from Chandigarh a modest beginning was made from one room in the Study Centre (0601) at USOL, Punjab Technical University.
Regional Centre Chandigarh was formally notified in June 2009.It shifted to its new hired premises at SCO-208, Sector-14, Panchkula in September-2009.
