The Institute undertakes training, research and consultancy in health management in close collaboration with international organizations such as UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, World Bank, ODA, DANIDA, KFW & GTZ, NORAD, CARE and USAID. Working for Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (GOI), Planning Commission, Indian Council of Medical Research, state governments and others. International Linkages collaborated with University of North Carolina, USA to offer masters programme to candidates from South-Asia
PGDHM
The Institute offers a two-year full-time Postgraduate Programme with specialization in Hospital Management, Health Management and Pharmaceutical Management. It is a flag ship educational programme aiming at developing trained professional managers with requisite skills in planning and operating management techniques; diagnosing and solving management problems; and acquiring consultancy skills, with a view to preparing them to manage hospitals and pharmaceutical and healthcare institutions in developing countries both in the public and the private sectors, and to meet the rising demand for quality care. For practical training the Institute has collaborative arrangements with multi-specialty hospitals and several pharmaceutical companies, NGOs and healthcare organizations.
As the programme has set high standards of management education in the health sector, it has attained the status of a premier programme in the country. Our students go for training and placement to as many as one hundred hospitals and pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations.
The programme, with an intake capacity of 120 seats, is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The programme has also been awarded the accreditation status by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The programme has been recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi as equivalent to MBA degree of Indian universities.
The Institute has featured in the list of top 5 Sectoral Business Schools of the country at Rank Number 1 in the recent Outlook C-Fore B-Schools Ranking (Outlook, June 2007).
Eligibility Requirements
For fresh graduates
• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.
• Should have taken any one of the MATs to be conducted by AIMA on September 2, 2007; December 2, 2007; February 3, 2008 and May 4, 2008.
• Applicants seeking admission to Pharmaceutical Management Stream must be graduates in Pharmacy or Science, i.e. B. Pharm or B.Sc.
• Candidates appearing at the final year examination of the Bachelor's degree or waiting for the results of their final year degree examinations in 2008 may also apply. Selected candidates will be given provisional admission. They will be required to produce evidence of their graduation within two months of admission.
For working executives
• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.
• Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in the healthcare sector.
• Such candidates are exempted from written MAT.
