Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj The University (CSJM), Kanpur - Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj The University (CSJM), Kanpur, was established in 1966 under the UP State Legislature Act to provide higher education to all and anyone in general and people of Kanpur in particular. Since its inception, the university has grown manifold. Now the university has 170 colleges affiliated to it. About 2.75 lakh students to get the registration every year in different affiliated colleges and university departments and courses in various streams like arts, commerce, science, social studies at different levels, namely, certificate, diploma, degree, graduate, etc. The university is committed to improving the quality of education in colleges affiliated and associated services. For the purpose a "Guidance for teachers in service and the Research Center was established in the University.

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj The University Kanpur, has been on the map of higher education for more than three decades.
