Management Aptitude Test – popularly known as MAT is a national level entrance examination conducted for admission to PGDM / MBA programs offered by various professional colleges and universities in India.
The Centre for Management Services (CMS), a division of All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts MAT at various test centers located in India and abroad. MAT is usually held 4 times in a year – February, May, September and December.
Eligibility: Educational Qualification:
The minimum qualification needed to appear for MAT is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or institute.
Candidates appearing for their final year examination can also appear for the test provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Minimum marks:
The minimum percentage of marks at graduation is not decided by the MAT conducting authority.
The institute/university accepting MAT scores decides the minimum percentage of marks for admitting students. (For this refer to the prospectus of the particular Management Institute / University.)
Age:
There is no age limit for appearing in MAT.

There are hundreds of institutes/universities accepting MAT score for admitting students for their respective management programs.

Scheme of MAT
The MAT is an objective type test with multiple-choice answers. It tests a candidate’s general aptitudes like:

Validity of MAT Score
v The validity of MAT score is for that particular session for most Management Institutes, but for AIMA-CME’s PGDM & PGDITM programs, the score is valid for one year.
Important Date
v MAT Test Date usually is on a Sunday and the reporting Time is around 9.00 AM
v Usually the test Time is 10:00 AM TO 12:30 PM
v You will have to check your Roll No. and test centers details online.

MAT Result
After the MAT is over, it is one’s excitement for viewing the MAT score. Candidates may view/download the MAT Score from AIMA website usually after 3 weeks from the date of the test.
