University of Mumbai is the 7th University in the country which started Distance Education Program in a conventional set up. Initially it started with the registration of 845 Students which has grown up to a staggering figure of about 80,000 in the last academic year. Students are also doing well by topping the merit list of Mumbai University and have bagged Gold Medal in M.A. Sanskrit, M.A. Marathi and Chancellor’s Medal in M.A. Hindi. There are a good number of Students securing 1st Class at B.A. / B.Com. and M.A. / M.Com. level during last year. Many Students of IDOL have gone abroad for seeking higher education in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand etc. during last year. Many well known film personalities have been also enrolled in IDOL.
The duration of the course for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce shall be three years. All subjects are compulsory. Total 7 Papers. (Total Marks 700):
1:- Foundation Course - Paper- 1
2:- Business Communication (Rev.) (Study Material Available in English only)
3:- Business Economics – Paper – 1(Rev.) (Study Material Available in Marathi)
4:- Commerce - Paper- 1- Introduction to Business (Rev)
5:- Environmental Studies
6:- Mathematical and Statistical Techniques (Study Material Available in English)
7:- Accounts Paper 1 – Accounting and Financial Management.(Rev.) (Study Material Available in English)
Who can Apply for B.Com Admission?
H.S.C (XII) Exam Passed for admission to First Year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
The students from CBSE, NIOS, H.S.C. Boards other than Maharashtra State, Dip. Ed. And Degree from other than University of Mumbai will have to obtain the Eligibility Certificate which will be issued from Eligibility Unit, Room No.
Admission Fees: Rs. 3280/-
- First Round Admission: 27th June,2014 to 26th July,2014
- Second Round with late Fees of Rs. 150/-: 1st August, 2014 to 16th August, 2014
Online admission Procedure for B.Com
The students are informed to keep ready the following documents before logging on for admission:
i. Recent passport size colour photograph (The students have to scan their photographs and signatures.)
ii. Passing certificate of qualifying examination,
iii. Proof of date of birth,
iv. Proof of address.
N.B. ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS SHOULD NOT BE SUBMITTED TO THE ADMISSION CENTRES, though the student has to carry original documents only for verification at the centres.
The students, who have passed their qualifying examination from other than Maharashtra State HSC Board and from universities other than University of Mumbai, fall under Eligibility Cases. Such students are requested to obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate from Assistant Registrar, Eligibility Section, Room No 108A, IDOL, University of Mumbai. They should bring their all original certificates/documents with them. They should also take the printout of Eligibility Form available on website.
The students are requested to pay their admission fees through Debit/ Credit Cards/ Net Banking. After payment of the fees, a cyber receipt will be generated; the same receipt alongwith admission form is to be submitted to admission centre. OR they may pay through Bank Challan (any branch of Bank of Maharashtra) which is available on Website.
Examination Hall Ticket:
Student has to download the Online Hall Tickets on university website: five days before to each examination and Appear examination. Without hall ticket the student will not be permitted to appear in the examination.
Documents Required for Admission:
- Students are requested to scan their passport size Photograph, Signature, Statement of Mark and (Convocation Certificate if applicable) and other documents as per requirements of the online admission process.
- The Student from other college affiliated to University of Mumbai who is transferring his/her admission to IDOL is required to submit original No Objection Certificate (NOC) of current academic year from the concerned college , scan it and submit along with online form.
