The Chemical Engineering Department of UICT is known as one of the best chemical engineering schools in the world. The Chemical Engineering Department of UDCT, from its inception to date, maintains a continued tradition of high quality education, research and academia-industry interaction. There is a regular output of high quality research in the field of multiphase reactors, catalysis, Bio separation, enzyme technology, environmental engineering, process intensification and process development. Detailed information on the various activities is given in the sections that follow. Given below are the main features of the Department. Despite depleted faculty strength the Department has been able to keep both its academic and industry interactions at a sustained high level. The number of research students per faculty member in the Department is the highest in the Chemical Engineering Departments in the world. The current research grants and interaction with the industry during the year 2004-2005 was an all time high
