Though industrial training is not necessary, according to the VTU curriculum, an NMAMTian is encouraged to have as much exposure as is possible to an industry and is assisted to undergo "vacational" training in the 3rd and 4th year of study. The Institute"s interaction with more than 120 industries, both governmental and private, provides the students with opportunities and exposure to the latest facilities and real work environment. Placement activities are looked after by the Department of Counselling, Welfare, Training & Placement. The Institute has a full time placement officer to keep students informed of opportunities as well as to organise off-campus initiatives whenever possible.
