Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship

The scholarships are offered to the following categories of students:
(1) Indian Nationals for Ph.D. study in India: and
(2) Nationals of other Asian countries for Ph.D. study in India.

Eligibility:
At the time of submission of the application for scholarship, a candidate should
1. Hold a FIRST Class Post-graduate degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate,
2. Already be registered for Ph.D. degree with a recognized University/ Institution in India. Those who have applied for registration and have not yet been registered at the time of submission of application are not eligible to apply.
3. Not be above 35 years of age,
4. Be a full-time Ph.D. Scholar,
5. Have NET/SLET/GATE Score.

Amount of scholarship:
1. Maintenance allowance including Tuition fee Rs. 12,000 per month
2. Contingent expenses for study tours within India purchase of books, stationery, etc. Rs. 15,000 per annum

Scholarship by RBI

The Reserve Bank of India invites application as per prescribed format from full-time faculty members, teaching economics or finance in any UGC-recognized Universities/Colleges in India to undertake short term research in the areas of monetary and financial economics, banking, real sector issues and other areas of interest to the Reserve Bank.

Selection:

The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the (a) research proposal of not more than 1000 words, (b) curriculum vitae and (c) interview by a selection panel.

General Cultural Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) (For international students)

Number of Scholarships: 6 per Year

Eligibility:

- The student should be eligible for the course he/she is applying for.

- The student should be proficient or at least able to converse in English.

- The student should not have any serious health issues.

Countries Covered: Afghanistan, Barbados, Botswana, Cambodia, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Guyana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Laos, Lesotho, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Malawi, Namibia, Nepal, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Republic of Ireland, Sri Lanka, Syria, Seychelles, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Uzbekistan, UAE, Vietnam, Yemen, Zaire, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) (For disabled students)

Number of Scholarships: 1000

Eligibility:

- The student should be a Citizen of India.

- Students having at least 40% disabilities and covered under Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 and the National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999.

- The monthly income of the beneficiary or their parent/guardian should not be more than Rs. 25, 000 per month (Rs. 3 Lakh p.a) from all sources.

Note: 30% Scholarships are reserved for girls. It is transferable to male candidates in case of non availability of girl applicants.

  • Cultural Exchange Programme(For international students)

Number of Scholarships: 3365

Eligibility:

- The student should be eligible for the course he/she is applying for.

- The student should be proficient or at least able to converse in English.

- The student should not have any serious health issues.

Expenses Covered: Tuition fees, Living Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Thesis and Dissertation Expenses and Study Tour Expenses

- The student should be eligible for the course he/she is applying for.

- The student should be proficient or at least able to converse in English.

- The student should not have any serious health issues.

Education Covered: Under- Graduate and Post Graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India and PhD level Research.

Expenses Covered: Airfare, Tuition fees, living and Accommodation Allowance.

Countries Covered: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Nepal, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, South Korea, and Thailand.

 

  • Ministry of Social Defense

This scholarship is provided to students having disabilities of all kinds. This organization provides scholarships in easy steps.

Eligibility:

- The student should be a Citizen of India.

- Students having at least 40% disabilities and covered under Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 and the National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999.

- The monthly income of the beneficiary or their parent/guardian should not be more than Rs. 50, 000 per annum from all sources.
