Delhi, as capital of India, has many colleges and Institutes. With More than 10 million populations the demand for colleges and institutes is huge.Delhi is supposed to have four universities, seven deemed universities and one open-university. Most of the colleges come under Delhi University and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and other deemed universities. To get in admission in Delhi colleges a student has to really struggle as demand is much more than supply. To get into Delhi University one has to score more than 75% and to get the best college one has to score above 95%.

Various colleges have various processes of admission, like some accept your previous exams results where as some accepts admission after conducting exams and then relying on there results for admissions.

The process differs from graduation to post graduation courses.

Being the capital it also attracts a lot of students from neighboring states thus creating more competition to get seats in these colleges.

Some of the Delhi colleges have achieved number one status in there categories Like IIT Delhi is considered best for engineering, AIIMS best for Medical science, Sriram College for Commerce education and FMS for MBA.

In last few years a large set of private institutes have come up to bridge gap between the demand for education and supply in terms of institutes. With huge investments for infrastructure some of these institutes are bigger than Delhi colleges. Some of the prominent are Amity University, IIPM ETC. A student is thus advised to compare all options before he makes a decision on colleges and institutes.
